ONAJEU celebrates 14th anniversary in Tabarre
National Organization for Youth Action (ONAJEU) is a Haitian organization working to improve the living conditions of human beings in general, and youth in particular, hence its slogan “Save the Youth”. Founded in 2009, ONAJEU has quickly made a name for itself by organizing various activities, seminars, training, workshops to reorient a youth long lost according to various specialists.
Thus, to mark its 14th anniversary, the leaders of the organization wanted to mark this new year with strong ink. In its premises in Tabarre, a big day was organized to celebrate, dance, reflect, but also see the future prospects of the structure.
Customary greetings, welcoming remarks, attractive decoration, everything was there to make this 14th anniversary a success. NAPOLEON Wood, Executive Director of the organization took the floor to somehow make the genesis of ONAJEU, the circumstances of its creation, the difficulties encountered along the way, its course and its achievements. The National Organization for Youth Action has a local representation, based in Tabarre. In terms of perspectives, Mr. Wood, given the objectives pursued by the organization, deemed that it is urgent that ONAJEU has a national, even international representation.
The youth members of the organization, brought a cultural touch to the activity. Indeed, dancers, singers, speakers, slammers, they all played their part to embellish this festive day.
In the wake, it was also a day of reflection where the speaker of the day, under the theme: “Juvenile delinquency and its consequences in the Haitian society”, took care to instruct, advise, guide the youth gathered for this purpose. The definition of the key words of the subject, the different types of criminal acts related to delinquency, the consequences of juvenile delinquency in the Haitian society are, among others, the different points which were elaborated during this conference of debate animated by Daniel Charles.
At the end of the day, members of ONAJEU and other guests gave their impressions of the activity.
All in all, talking about the youth in Haiti is and remains an endless discussion. How can we talk about the future of this country without the real involvement of the youth? The objectives of ONAJEU are well defined, clear and achievable. Is it really here that the real trigger for the effective development of Haitian youth will start? It remains to be seen…
